The photo of the tulips was taken with a Nikon 500mm lens at f/4, hence the limited depth of field. The background blue is actually a body of water (I was looking down a grade towards it), and the reddish color is potato-growing soil in my native Prince Edward Island (it's rich in iron). Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the kind words. For the record, I had to return to the location (a 30-mile drive) three times in total to get the sky in its full glory. No complaints.

Thank you, feuer... canola is this bright color for only a very short time, about a week. The old saying "f/8 and be there!" applies here, although it never hurts to have the 24-70mm f/2.8 lens with you.
