Working the river - barge and towboat

Notes

At the wide mouth of the Columbia River, the shipping channel is quite close to the Oregon shore. Makes for easy catches of boats. Personally, I think naming the work boat a "towboat", and then seeing it push barges, is slightly ridiculous - but no one asked me…...

Thanks for the wonderful comments - Ced, we actually call the boats who pull barges "tugboats", which makes a lot of sense to me….these "towboats" only push….
